EO Site Question

I am still trying to figure out some of the changes here on EO. We used to have articles on here that had really great stuff to help us or to make suggestions. Are the articles gone now? I can't find them at all. I know there is a place to sign up for the newsletter but do we have any more informative articles on here?

Am I just overlooking them? The ads seem to have taken over. Does anyone else feel that way? I know they are paying the bills so we have to be thankful for that but I sure do miss the weekly articles I used to enjoy. Also, I am having to scroll constantly now. Maybe that is a good way to exercise my eyes????

In regards to the extra scrolling - is this...the old EO was optimized for a 15" monitor (800x600) resolution. In the last 4 years most of our visitors have gone to a 17" monitor with a larger screen resolution.

How do you know for a fact that most of us "visitors" have a 17" monitor. Sounds like informatin supplied by Web designers about Desk top PC users in general.

I think most EO "visitors" would be on a laptop with a smaller screen.

Thanks Lawrence. That's it. I have a little laptop screen in the truck. It is one of those things we have to live with.

And thanks Terry. I hated to give up those informative articles. No other site I have found has such informative articles that have to do with the expediting world in general.

All I see also is the advertisements and I am often in a hurry and forget to look for the new articles. That is to bad as Jeff has really done some very informative ones.

I've got a 17" set at 1024x768 and have to page down one page to see any news/articles etc. as well.

They can certainly know the screen resolution, if not the size of the sceen by software that analizes the vistors of a website. It's no big deal. it helps the owner of the site customize info and keep it relevant to the users.

India, can you double check the page you actually have bookmarked? Could it be that the page you normally enter the site on is not the MAIN page?

Now I see it! All I could see was advertisements and I had never actually scrolled to the bottom of the opening page. I guess I thought it was just a page of ads. Interesting. Thanks!

It is default for new members - members that were on the old system have to select their own time-zone. We can't over-ride that

Attention all members that were on the old system: Please go to the control panel and set your time to Eastern Standard Time. I confuse easily. I live in real time, work in eastern time and do the internet thing in E.O. time.

And like me, he spends his days at home in Miller Time!!!
