Photo of Emigrant Pass, where I-80 crosses the Sierra Nevada mountains. Last October I had a run from Grand Rapids -> Sacramento. It was raining off and on, and I saw one car flipped over in Reno, another up in the pass, and a FedEx Semi that plowed into a guardrail -- white-knuckle driving, to be sure! On the return trip, I made a point of detouring through Lake Tahoe, a truly beautiful part of the country.
