I have a 96 FL 70 with the Eaton/Fuller 6 speed. The transmission has 615,000 miles on it , and up until now I have had no problems with it. Over the last 2-3 weeks in the hot weather I am starting to have problems downshifting from 6th gear. If I have been crusing on the highway and want to slow down and get off, sometimes it takes real effort to get it out of top gear. It shifts up throuh all the gears and down from 5th on with no problems. I talked to a Eaton/Fuller tech rep and he said that the Shift Bar housing was probably getting worn from all of the miles spent in 6th gear. He said the Shift bar is steel and ther housing is aluminum, possibly warped and the high temperatures don!t help. I was wondering if our Mechanic at large (Weave) or anyone else has experienced this problem and can advise what they did to repair it.I am sure big bucks are probably involved..x(
