I have seen both the E350 & E450 conversion into haulers with sleepers on them. I think most are converted to car haulers with a 3 & 4 car trailers. I was wondering what the difference is between the two vans?

GVW to start with, but a quick trip to your local ford truck dealer with reveal alot more differences...or..even a google to a ford website and a look at both trucks specs...

The frame to start with. Then Axles and then as Chef said GVW.

If you are going to go that route, get an E450 with the highest GVW. You are going to log anyway and the long wheelbase will allow you to have a good size sleeper where you can actually move around. I am looking at one right now, he is pulling a wedge and has a deck on the back end for the tools and straps.

Oh and by the way, if you do this yourself, go to ford's commercial website and get their body builders book - it has a lot of info about how to do the work to the chassis.

Greg, what are you going to haul with it? Do you have a link to the body builders book? I found a 2005 E450 already with every but a trailer. But, $17,500 is out of my price range. It's a custom ambulance with a full sleeper unit off a 200 kenworth 9ft alum flat bed, reese hitch,6.0 diesil.
