We're considering driving for Dynamex and have a "b" unit. Does anyone have any info (good or bad) about the company.

Thanks:7

You weren’t very clear in your thread! About what you wanted to know. Do you know the type of work that Dynamex does? Go to their web site and you will learn all you need to know about them. I can tell you one thing, and that is that they have about 24 offices in the US, and 15 in Canada. They are a courier service (messenger) and do more inter city deliveries, than long distance runs. They aren’t an expediting company, but they may be now. You may already know this and are okay with it. If it is expediting that you are looking into then I don’t think you want to work for them.

A couple of years ago there was a Canadian Expediter who was quite active on EO.I believe he ran for Dynamex and did a lot of automtive freight between Ontario points and Michigan.. I don!t want to mention his name but I believe he was quite satisfied with Dynamex.

hey thanks Tony..we're under the impression from a Canadian recruiter that it IS expediting service in Canada..says they have a lot of business from Ontario to Michigan and back. But that's the recruiter. He also said stateside is more of a courier business. Long hauls include Quebec up here and the corridor down there. Claims Michigan is prime for them.
any other info out here? any happy people that do work for them?

thanks.:D

Rich,

That would be Jim from Mississauga. Last time I spoke with him was Expedite Expo 2002 and he was back with them. He seemed to do well with them, they are coast to coast and seem to be quite large in PA.

UPDATE:
Well peoples, JuJuBeans and myself have just completed our 5th week at this company and whew what aride! Maybe we're still on the newbe rotation
(you know getting juiced) But anyhows we just finished a round trip Hamilton to Newfoundland, Montreal to Charlotte NC and Charlotte NC to home all expedite pay and no wait time!! 8 days + 14 hours on a ferry, 8200 Kms. They can't get us enough right now! we're bushed, the cats don't know us anymore and my kids ask who we are *LOL* Not complaining though and the 1st settlement was bang on. And the dispatchers are quite co-opertive to our standings and seem up front, so far so good, I am waiting for the other shoe to drop. They are very aggressive at getting ya back hauls and keep you moving and get you home paid even if it's a skid of LTL for a couple 100 so you don't lose your expedite money moving around. We've had very few dead miles so far(crossing my fingers) So we're going to ride this wave as long as it goes cuz we know it won't last, we're not that naive.

Maybe our good fortune spread and drive safely to all!

Hi OntarioVanMan!

That is a great update! I am willing to bet it does one of 2 things for the new drivers down here, or the drivers not doing all that good. Hopefully it will give them some hope, and something to look forward to, or it will have all the not so lucky drivers, that don’t know the meaning “patience is a virtue,” (It doesn’t come free) or that the saying, “good attitude brings good fortune”, is true. Your companies phone lines are undoubtedly ringing off the hook from drivers asking about leasing on with them.

Good Luck and thanks for the update. You appear to know the meaning and believe the saying!

*LOL* Darn, reading back over my somewhat excitable post it reads like a recruiting ad!!! That wasn't the intent at all and to you skeptics NO I am not in management in no way not even related, we're on one of them rolls that just happens and I am not about to shake the tree!
Luck, patience, toss in some restraint and a pinch of internal fortitude and the belief that good things happen to good people and just maybe we may make it in this topsy turvy business!

*tossing my roll of lucky pennies in the air* Drive safe!
