My daughter announced she has had it with school. So she insisted on never returning (dropped out). She decided that the dumbing down was a complete waist of any of her time and being in classes that were nothing more than babysitting classes.
She convinced my bride, who than convinced me or that is the polite way of saying you always have your truck to sleep in when you come home. So I stand behind this young lady that she is gona home school herself, I am very dissipointed the liberal views of your educational system, the NO Students left behind I think Bush was nuts for ever bowing to this program. But it has left our brightest students being bored to death at school and aceing every assignment given to them.
There is no way a College would every grant my daughter a scholarship, or even admission as she is just not prepared with less than two years to go before graduation, into a great school. The students that are being accepted are taking and learning on their own and thats percisley what she intends to do. She has assigned herself all of the requirements, plus learning about commonsense issues like renting an apartment, purchasing large ticket items, figuring out the price of food items per ounce as advertised, how credit actually works, etc... She also has volinteered to do community work, and holds a part time job. And to top this off my niece has decided to join her and another nieghborhood young girl.
Dissipointed Yes I am, I had always wanted H.S. to be one of the best times of her life, I guess this will be just without going to the bricks and mortor. Glad she had the courage to see all the way through this. I went into her school and sat down the with the Vice Principal last year (I could tell stories) but nothing had changed at the start of this year, her science class after one month still had no perminate teacher assigned to her class thus babysitting hour. People this is our educational system, even when we contacted the school we were told she is not the only one in the class and we are working to find someone. Yeah right if no one complains and most of the students found this to be way to cool than nothing is gona happen. If you have kids in school LISTEN to what they are telling you cause I did not believe this until I went into her school last year myself and everything she was saying was TRUE it is unbelievable, if business runs like this we would all be out of a job. Or maybee we are on the way.........
