WOW
I was in Wildwood Florida got my truck serviced and went next door to check on a wash.
All the employees were standing around with hands in pocket (was a chilly morning) when I asked for a price of a wash. I was told $50 - $60. I have been getting my truck washed lately for about $25 - $35, and a pretty good job at that. When I mentioned what I was use to paying it turned ugly. I was told to suck something and as I walked away the typical "scummy male" cat calls and very vulgar comments were shouted in my direction.
When I got back to the TA where my truck was being serviced I spoke with the service manager and asked him if he knew the owner or manager of the Truck wash. The TA service manager told me that it would be a waste of my time. He has people on a daily basis come in with such experiences with the truck wash in Wildwood. He gave me directions on where I could get one for the lower price I have been paying. Though I will just wait and do it at home.
Money is coming in a lot slower, and even these rude men at the Wildwood Truck wash were not busy. But when I go to spend money on my truck or anything for that matter, I shop around a little harder to know that I am paying what the industry is getting and not more.
If you are in the area and really need a truck wash there is a RV size do it yourself place just east of the truck stop. You can ask the people in the service department at TA.
Don't pay more than you have to.
