This guy is blessed to be alive.. and ok.. he fell asleep driving, and woke up just before he hit the building. The brick front of the building then collapsed onto the truck. This is the type of stuff that makes the FMCSA take closer looks.

Yeah, these are just the sort of things that causes the FMSCA to look closer at us. After all, it is FAR easier for them to look at the isolated things like this that take place than it is to look that the millions that drive daily without a problem.

It would seem to me that they would do far better figuring out how those who DON'T fall asleep do it rather than study the few that do.

I don't think it will grab any attention from the FMCSA & here's why.
this is a local P&D truck and working under the 100 mil rules.
that driver don't even have a log book, just a time card kept at the carrier's home office.
which is a few states away.
the insurance adjuster agent on the other hand will make the trip tho'w. he will be served fresh pizza when he gets there.

I wouldn't think you'd have enough pizza places within 100 to run a T/T.
My guess is he covers two or three states and probably does two loads per week.
A 100 mile radius would probably be a daycab.

Just watched the video. Some brave idiot went into the truck to retrieve log book and other important docs.
Heaven forbid the log book disappeared enroute to impound and they missed another possible ticket.
