Driver "didn't see her"

Anyone see this one the Today Show? A lady pulled out too close in front of a semi (I know, it happens all the time).. problem is, the truck clipped her, turned her sideways, and pushed her down the highway at 60mph for over a minute before people got his attention! The driver said he didn't know she was there.

Is there that much of a blind spot that a whole car could be hidden from sight. Maybe the driver was 4 foot tall and couldn't see over the steering wheel
