There are lots of good sleeper/truck combos out there,so it really just come down to features.
We won't go back to manual transmissions, small refridgerators,or any other APU but the Onan with rooftop A/C for the sleeper.DD.

Since the truck I would be getting would most likely be ran solo I would outfit it with that in mind. I'd get what I needed to get the job done. Since it would be just me and I wouldn't be gonna stay out for 3 months at a time I would get most likely get a Class 8 (for durabilty) with the factory sleeper. My main concern would be finding something mechanicly sound number 1 and number 2 something that the payments wouldn't eat me alive. I've driven the good looking long nosed Petes that you hear some rave over, and I've driven quite a few Freightliner Century Classes. I've got to say I was always more comfortable in the Freightshaker and come to think the companies I worked for then paid me more than the ones where I drove long nosed petes and kws. It's all on what you like and want.

That depends on what the dream is. If it's the dream of getting the most loads possible it's a Freightliner Argosy 110" high roof with 30' t-val oversize box with liftgate and live tandems.

If the dream is pretty comfortable expediting it's a Sterling 9500 with 96" Bentz sleeper with 22' box and liftgate.

If the dream is maximized paid tourist it's whatever chassis with a 150" custom sleeper and whatever box fits.

What's the dream truck is akin to how high is up?

We have been driving our dream truck since June, 2006 and hope to run it ten years or more. You can read all about by clicking the "Truck Photo and Specs" link in my signature below.

A Team may by his way of thinking have a Dream Truck but I believe very few if any Expediters would go out and spend $256,000 on a C Unit.

Actually 256K is quite a bargain for the "Rich"full time RV`er. Some put a Million or more in their coaches, and never offset it with a dime the way we do.

256k is a little rich for my blood. It's like they say champane on the beer budget. For me that would be like champane on the Sam's Choice generic cola budget.

I think I would buy an RV at that number before I would a expedite truck. If doing expedite trucks, I would at least buy two at that price. Or....a fleet of used ones.
Maybe Leo can get a box on the back of this Arogosy.

Jack, I don't know I never got a price from them. I would venture to take a wild guess that it is between twice and three times the cost of Phil's ride because if they buy the complete truck in white, it tops out at $95K and then the labor to move the engine back and cutting the cab and etc...

I'd love to see pics of the inside or at least the engineering drawings of the layout. I'm sure it's too expensive but also sure it must be nice. I suspect ICT could do something similar to their KW studio sleeper conversion in a regular Argosy. It wouldn't match this one but would be quite comfortable and with a pup also very maneuverable.

To me a dream truck is a D unit that cost $15k,requires very little maintenance and runs and runs. Bells and whistles are nice but fat bank accounts are nicer.

I could not find prices nor when I think about it, I would not want to use them anyway.

Leo,
The argosy is a difficult cab to extend, but it is doable and FL won't say much on how to do it. I went through finding out what has to be done and got some quotes but everything is on hold for me.

I ran across a couped extended argosy's in Canada last year and talked with one guy who showed me the pitfalls of the work that was done. He was the third owner of the truck and it looked good from a distance.
