I just read 300 pages of the 1000 plus page of the Secure Borders, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Reform Act of 2007 and got to say this is a bad thing for all of us.
This is not going to be just test voted on today but the senate will force passage of this bill later this week as fast as possible so you don’t realize it happened.
Not to summarize the bill in this post, but it is clearly a ticket to become citizens by committing a criminal act. There are rewards for them and a cheapening of our country and the citizenship we hold.
The thing that is really a concern is that this bill just came out of committee and now is being voted on without much if any debate. The senate, with people like Reid, McCain and others want this passed as fast as possible and even people who will vote on it that did not read it. I have yet to find an executive summary on the bill.
The excuses from people like McCain and the protesters are not legitimate at all, it looks like he and the others are pandering to people who want to exploit these invaders. The reasoning behind some of the bill is not splitting up families when the parents commit one of the biggest crime against sovereignty, we tend to forget that our country is a country of laws and when these laws are broken, people need to pay the price for what they did. We split up families all the time when one parent or both have committed a crime. In many cases the children are placed in foster care and in a few cases the rights of the parents are severed.
The excuse that we need to have this large amount of labor for agriculture is also false. The fact is companies like Dole will be forced to mechanize their harvesting process which will lessen our chances to have more spinach type horrors, and so many crops that have been considered to be harvested by hand have been mechanized.
I have written before it is far better to help them fix their own country and to make sure that everyone who wants to live here follow the same laws as we all have to so to insure that they are prosperous and safe.
But for those who don’t care, you need to learn about the crimes these invaders cause, the identity theft alone is just so devastating to many families. Our laws are such for people who have had their social security numbers stolen and credit cards used with those numbers don’t have the rights to restore their lives as easy as someone who has invaded, lived on the stolen identity then gets a chance to live free without worry about going to jail for the damage they have done to innocent people. This bill allows the damage done not to be corrected.
And a message for those who have become citizens through the legal path, this should insult you and your hard work taking the legal path to citizenship in our country. You of all people should be angry that this bill is being voted on.
I ask everyone to call your senators office and voice your thoughts about giving amnesty and a free ride to the people who invaded our country. It takes only a few minutes to voice your opinion and tell them what you, the voter feels about this scam. Be polite and be brief.
