If you're still looking for a dog from the earlier post, you can go to my website, Dogamaroo.com and click on the links to Petfinder.
There are over 184,000 homeless adoptable animals on Petfinder any given time, more and more I would imagine that has something to do with Hurricane Katrina dogs and cats. A lot of people don't know it, but nearly 30% of dogs surrendered to shelters are purebred.
That might be a good place to look for a dog, if you're still looking.
I've also got some articles on there about Responsible Pet Ownership and other issues from professionals in the field that might be of help in some of the issues that were debated on the earlier post.
I travel with a Jack Russell/Lab mix (I don't know how that happened) that I adopted from a shelter. Not only is he a great companion, but he is a very good hire- working security. Once I go to sleep he is on duty.
Hope you find the information useful.
Peace be with you.
