Does your carrier profess to air freight specialist?

you pick up a 3200 lb skid..say a die to go air....the skid is 24x24 with 1" runners on bottom.....you get to the air carrier..they refuse your shipment leaving you hold the bag....why?


Because the load bearing weight can't be more then 65 lb per square inch....on a commercial aircraft.

This is just a sample..it has happened to me....

You get to Burlington Vermont airport...with a box that is 36 x36 and it is refused.....Why?

Because those little jumper craft only have a 32" opening for cargo.....and they won't put it in with passengers....

If you or your carrier doesn't know any of these facts you are NOT an expert at air cargo....

Seems to me that is either a shipper or cons error. Which only opens up more miles for me

sometimes....but if your carrier advertizes expertize in the field..its up to them....I have been a receipient of some good loads because they couldn't fly out and had to be driven...hehehe....

a lot of shippers and consignees don't know all the rules...an air freight carrier should. That is why they called in the first place.

I have seen shippers with a 2x2 box in the middle of 4x4 pallet....I advise the shipper he is paying cubic feet..the difference is hundreds of dollars...all that empty space at that....and he'll quickly make one up...and I look good!

So was the first load a charter, or was it going on a commercial flight? If commercial, then that one is easy. it may even be easy if it was a charter. If load bearing weight is too high for the size, they just need to secure it to a larger size pallet. That will spread the weight around, but will normally not work on a charter.

how true that is

something i fine intresting is how much that is drop off at the airport and it goes by truck

depending on airline 150lbs is max for one piece
and different size of airplane that comes and goes to different cities

Geo....yup....commercial airlines are funny...they'll bump cargo off the flight because people are a priority and yet they make a better profit off cargo....you don't have to feed it or listen to it whine and it doesn't sue ya!!

If it was a commercial line and the attendant didn't suggest it, it's because he's too lazy., He gets paid whether it flies or not.
