Does anyone know a safe hotel in the Raleigh area?

We are currently at the Wakemed Hospital in Rageigh, NC. Nick is having an emergency appendectomy, and we are looking for a hotel to stay in once we leave for a few days. The nurses said not to stay in the area because its not the greatest. Just wondering if anyone had experience with places to stay around here or up towards Greensboro, or anywhere within about an hours drive.

a number of times and been very happy with it. They accept the CLC card and have been advertising extended stay discounts.

Jenny, no need to drive all the way to Greensboro. Just head east from the hospital, towards Knightdale or head north on US1 toward Wake Forest.

Good luck to you and Nick, Jenny!! This will be one of those things that you guys look back on with fond memories 30 years from now!! On our honeymoon my wisdom teeth erupted and I had to go find a dentist in the middle of the night. We found one willing to come in, got me some pain pills to make it home, charged me nothing, called it a "wedding present" All this trials you go through now just make you stronger later. Enjoy them.

Well, he had been doing ok. This morning he woke up in a ton of pain and running a fever. Waiting for the Dr. to come in and see him. He is up walking around some though.

hope Nicks having better luck than I had.my appendix burst,1978,they kept me in hospital for 2 weeks,and then my doctor wouldn't let me go back to driving for 2 months.prayers are with you 2

Good news is the fever is gone, the swelling is down. Just waiting on a few test results and then its off to a hotel room for a few days. Thank you everyone for your well wishes and prayers.

Just an update. We are out of the hospital. Fever is gone, swelling is gone. In a hotel now. We will be here until Tuesday. Thanks again everyone

We are at the Cambria Suites by the airport. Nice room, tempurpedic bed, fridge and microwave so I can cook for him some. He seems to be doing better today, but I have a feeling this recovery is going to take a little longer than the last.
