Does any one else have a side income?

My wife and I have started a side income with an internet based greeting card and gift company named Send Out Cards. Our website is www.sendoutcards.com/atkinson.

My wife is a card sender and she loved this company so much that we signed up as distributors. We hope you will go on to our website and send someone you love a FREE card today! And let us know what you think.

Now that you know about our side income, please tell us about yours!

Thank you!

Good try... ???

I am for real! This company is for real! And if you would check out our websight, you will find that we are giving you the opportunity to try our product for FREE!

When was the last time you drove your Sprinter for FREE!

As you said... Good try!

Maybe you two are right. I guess I was fooling myself when I figured that expeditors were smarter than the average truck driver.

I also figured with the length of time waiting on loads, that would be a GREAT time to work on a side business. Especially with what is happening with the economy, and the amount of good paying loads out there.

I was wrong!

I am sorry to waste your valuable time!

We will stick to driving and keeping off the CB, and out of here!

Just trying to help!

Is this a forum?????

Please don't share who you are contracted to. That might be confused with an advertisment!

If I offended you, or if I over stepped my place. Please delete my post!

I will survive!

I think if you would have had more than a handful of posts, this post would have been okay. Since you are so new it is just assumed that you are a spammer.

On slow days and weekends when there is no freight, I go out back and walk the back lot. Make some money doing that. You know finding penny's, nickels, dimes, sometimes even $1 bills. Plus I sell truck parts, bug shields for cab-overs, muffler cleaning services, and my specialty 5th wheel greasing on class 8 straight trucks.

You should contact the forum member Moot, he'll tell you about all the different lucrative business's he's had out the back of his van over the years.

All kidding aside, don't be so quick to be offended just because a few people don;t like your product. Oh yea, one more important sales tip, don't insult the people you are trying to market your products to.

We don't have a side business while out here. We're doing just fine with expediting.

Hey Gary, some people just love to attack don't take it personally. I guess they figured you would just make an account then wait a year and 8 months and then blam spam, I will check out your side business. Good luck to you both.

Thanks for the nice words! And I didn't mean to offend anybody! Including the nay sayers.

I do understand the point of being new to the forums and then posting something like that.

When I joined in March 08', I was exploring whether then was agood time to get into expediting. After the advice I got in here (some good, some bad) I decided that it wasn't a good time.

My wife and I have a desire to spend our lives together, and are not happy with the seperate daily grind. Expediting appears to be a GREAT opportunity for us under the right financial conditions. 1) we must be debt free! We follow the Dave Ramsey plan. 2) With the ups and downs in trucking, there must be another income stream from somewhere.

We are 3 years away from being debt free (sooner if our business goes well) and then we will be able to hit the road together in financial peace.

So I guess in the mean time, I will keep my current truck driving job (as long as I can in Michigan), pay off the mortgage, and build a REALLY cool business.

I do wish you all much success with ALL that you do, and I hope that more will share what they do on the side.

There's no attack, personal or otherwise involved here. What IS involved is long time members having seen this type of thing before and if it's allowed in a small way, such as this one, then when someone else decides to advertise in a big way, the argument against it is watered down.

Members can recall a poster that interwove his personal business advertisements into most of the posts he made under the guise of "recommending" a good place to purchase whatever product was being discussed at the time.....this guy was blatant.

I'm sure in the ten year history of the forum every trick in the book has been tried to "get over" on the management. I'm not saying that this particular member had any intention of cheating Lawrence out of advertising dollars, honestly, I think the intention was innocent but not aware of the rule against it.

Maybe an advertisement in the free classifieds with a reference to it here in the forums would be in order.

I deliver pizza's at Marco's on Saturday and Sunday, since Ceva is mainly a Monday thru Friday gig. I average $13 to $20 an hour. I bet many expeditors can't even make that. I know I am struggling, hence the pizza side job.:)

My main job is to patrol parking lots and welcome people like myself to the lot....every once and awhile I'll take a load of freight to make some extra cash...

I have started a handyman service. Instead of wasting time and money sitting at truck stops I visit near by neighborhoods looking for odd jobs. I do minor home repair and yard work. I now travel with 2 step ladders, lawn mower, 2 rakes, miter saw, various hand tools and safety glasses. Attached is a picture of my well stocked van. I'm thinking about getting a roof rack for the ladders.
