So you unload in say Flint Mi and you live say in South Bend and you intend on DHing home Now your a Flying J addict and you need to fill-up... you could fill in Grand Ledge or Benton Harbour..
Well if you chose not to run on fumes to the Harbour you'll pay as of this morning .14 a gallon more as listed on their website....to me on a 20 gallon fill is only 2.80 BUT to you straights thats a whack of bucks?

The website pricing from what I was told by Pilot and I assume it is the same with J is delayed on the weekends due to Bush and Cheny sleeping in which prevents them from setting the prices.

I try to plan all fuel stops. Being in an IFTA truck I have not only fuel price to consider but also fuel tax credits. My choice of fuel stop can easily have a $20 effect on my wallet times how many fuel stops per year?

The Flying J 1/2 shower credit for gasoline purchases using a frequent fuel card is 20 gallons, not 25, Unless they changed the policy in March of this year. That same 20 gallons will get you a 1/2 beverage credit.

The minimum for trucks at the diesel islands is 50 gallons, so many folks believe we four wheelers need to get 1/2 that much; and the urban legend lives on.

I recently attended the Bush/Cheney fuel price meeting, and brought up to them the issue of 1/2 shower fuel volumes at Flying J. They assured me that the amount required would remain at 20 gallons for the foreseeable future.

Remember, shower early in the morning when the underground tanks are cooler. You get denser water and thus a cleaner you! Also never turn the water on full. Use the slowest setting so the water doesn't vaporize.

How come eevrything goes south when it's broken???:confused:

OK here is my third attempt at explaining this;

People use a map with north at the top and south at the bottom. the meaning 'went south', like in the case of my trans went south means it 'went down' or broke down. The same reasoning applies to I'm going down south for some mint juleps and Dr. Pepper. You don't say you are going down north, so down - south... get it?

Blame my teacher Ernest Hemingway for learning all of that.

Then how come when the trucks fixed it's not up north and running?

Its' just up and running???

Hemingway??...he's Canadian.....*L*

I have no clue :p All I know is Windsor is south but Canada is North.

Hemingway, Yep Ernest Hemingway was my English teacher - no really he was. OK... my English teacher in college looked and sounded just like Hemingway, actaully drank like him. I had him for a few classes and Hemingway was discussed a lot in the class. My sister didn't believe the stories I told her about him until she took American lit with me, then she could not believe Ernest Hemingway was still alive. She told me the other day that she will have a class with him in the fall, yipee.

Actually Point Pelee is the most southern point in Canada and also it's the only place in Canada where deciduous trees grow.

Let me get this straight...
