Is it me or did I just miss the point entirely.
The Haitian people are going to rebuild the parts of their country that were destroyed, the estimated cost will be $3B over a 10 year period - most of the funds seem to be committed from countries who are willing to help. This includes new hospitals, new schools and so on within a short amount of time. This is above and beyond what I understand will be money spent on helping the people.
On the other hand the last news report I found was New Orleans which still hasn't been rebuilt, the levees are still a problem and they will need a total of something like $14B to completely rebuild the city and $9B for the levees which does not including the $40B obama has promise for the gulf coast to be get to help all of them along which I think a large amount of the money will go to the N.O. cause. Someone can correct me on the numbers.
