Disability Insurance

I guess most every driver has Workman's Comp these days, but I've been thinking about getting some Disability Insurance as well. Drivers however, are in one of the highest risk categories and the premiums are high. Nobody ever thinks that they will be in an accident severe enough to warrant disability insurance, but we know the potential for such an occurence is there. I'm curious as to how many of you have disability insurance and if so, how much is your coverage and premium and who is the insurer?

I pay $10.50 a week for $1000.00 a month of coverage for 12 months, or the other option, which I am thinking of upgrading to--$14.00 a week for $1000.00 a month for 24 months. Which starts 30 days after I get hurt on the job, or I have the option of starting 7 or 14 days after I get hurt
