Diesel on clothes

Hi there folks have a question about removing the smell of diesel on jeans,Seems like not a trip goes buy that some is spilled or dripped on jeans have soaked them in murphys oil but still cannot get the smell out at $25 to $30 a pair it gets expensive to throw them away.Any Ideas?

Try rubbing in Joy or Dawn into the spots before washing.Works on most petrolem stains.Also be sure to use fabric softener.

Can`t rember getting any on my jeans,but then I allways put on heavy rubber gloves when fuelling.Dont like to go down the road smelling like a refinery.

Please don't take this the wrong way but how in the world or what in the world are you doing to get fuel on you so often? I will regret saying this but I dont think I have every gotten fuel on me at all. Now I am one to grease on my butt every time I put oil in due to a fitting on the steering rod but that is about it.

My smart A@# answer is just dont get it on you or buy some coveralls for fueling. I have no idea how to get that smell out. Good luck because I do know pants are expensive

I use Go-Jo (yes, the hand cleaner) pretreat the area and you should be set to go.

To prevent fuel from being spit at you, stand to the side and do not top the tanks even though the disire is there due to it being the lowest price your gonna see for 4 states

Yes go-jo works well. Simple Green works well too. Spray it on the deisel and throw in the washer.

I run a gas van but a lot of places the gas and diesel comes from the same pump and nearly every one of them has diesel spilled around them. Then I get it on my shoes and have to smell it for days. I guess maybe people pumping gas spill it too but it evaporates faster than diesel but it sure is aggravating. If there are pumps with only gas I will wait in line to use it instead of one with diesel. I've worked with diesels all my life but still don't like to smell raw diesel fuel. Burnt diesel is not too bad lol. Dieseldoctor.

Well some great solutions, will try them out. I guess it sounds like I get it on me all the time. I guess I meant at least once or twice a year,not a lot. usually when in a hurry to fuel. what is left in the nozzle flies out when placing it back or removing it from holder.will have to take my time in future. While looking for Ideas saw a great site for Ideas Do-it yourself.com.
