Diesel burns longer and owner of the truck didn't want anything going into a fuel tank.

Get some power service diesel fuel treatment (white bottle), get the bottle that treats 40 gallons and put in tank. BTW what size tank do you have?

Then put in a half bottle every 10 gal. BTW if you put it n more it is ok as the back of the bottle states.

So it liquidises the gel? How fast acting is it? Also do you know if anything can be done to the tank itself to prevent freezing?

If it is gelled up then you need to get a bottle of 911 diesel treat (red bottle). Any size bottle will work. Put in tank and follow directions on the back of the bottle. I don’t know how fast it works because i have never used it but i hear it works great.

Diesel fuel does not gel. When it reaches a certain temperature it begins to "wax", because it contains paraffin.
