Has anyone tried the powerpuck on a dt530 international at all ? I may have a deal closed for a intl and wanna slap the powerpuck on off the bat to increase mpg I know the bullydog on my 03 7.3 added a extra 6 mpg so it paid itself off fast.

Thanks

PS: The truck I may have gotten is a 02 intl 4300 with dt530 at 330hp and a fuller 9speed. very clean truck the peterbuilt dealership is doing a full check up of truck and that will be deciding factor on the the final purchase.

I am having a strong feeling the truck will check out fine so thats why I am asking about this powerpuck.

I don't know if I would mess with the data going into the ECM with these things. It seems it doesn't do much in 'reprogramming' as it claims but rather 'adjust' the data to make it look like the engine sensors say one thing and not the true readings.

I ended up passing on the intl because the truck ended up having a mountain of abs troubles forget that noise of a money pit no way.

I'm Driving a 2004 with a dt530 and has been nothing but problems with 130,000 miles on it, fuel milage to start, like's to use a lot of oil 3qts every 10,000 mile's, check engine light allways coming on and check electrical system light popping up all the time, plus under powered very bad . Old Penske Rental Truck.

I run an 2003 international 4300 DT 466E and 3 qts every 10,000 is about right. Its a pain in the neck but this is normal, as it blows out hhe breather tube. I dont like taking it into the dealership but have them or a truck shop pull the codes and see what comes up also, while they have it plugged in have them turn off all the limmiters. Most rental trucks are turned way down. A 215 hp motor only will put out maby 150 hp to keep the knucklehead wanabee weekend truck drivers that rent them from wercking them not to mention speed governors.
HOWEVER, KEEP THE LIMMITERS ON THAT PROTECT THE ENGINE, TRANSMISION, AND DRIVE AXLE OR YOU CAN QUICKLY CAUSE SOME SERIOUS DAMMAGE A bad thing.
Also try changing your fuel filter if you havent already, if you are running an alison trans unfortunatly you will loose some power through the transmision.

How much is the bullydog and how difficult is it to install?

I have a 2003 E350 with 7.3 power stroke and I get around 18 and I runb real hard average speed is about 85 / 90 . I have a bullydog programmer but I am gonna put my old programmer back in its a older superchips I think I may get better mpg with that one.

I know the bullydog on my 03 7.3 added a extra 6 mpg so it paid itself off fast.

Wow, if one were to run a little less hard and say average only 70 mph could one be considered a refinery on wheels and be eligible for certain federal tax credits? I guess with the refinery status comes the E.P.A. standards and restrictions. Might be best to continue averaging 85/90.

Dreamer, looks like you have done some house cleaning. Any chance of getting an explanation in private for the reason my posts were deleted?
