Delphi to file bankruptcy?

Just curious on whether anyone has heard about that or not...I have a friend in the Detroit area that received a letter last week to be prepared for plant closings?? Is it all of Delphi or just select plants?

I don't know about Delphi, but Ford is going to restructure.
3 or 4 plants in the States will close and one in Windsor and the plant in St.Thomas Ont. are rumoured to be on the chopping block.

I just delivered to a Delphi plant a few weeks ago in Rochester,NY. What a big place.Has to be alot of employees,just in that 1 plant.

My information was a little premature.
Ford St.Thomas is safe until at least 2008.
Windsor Castings will close.

I heard that Delphi may file sometime next week and that they may go the same route as ford/vistion. It depends on the Frankfort Autoshow and if anything comes out of it for them. The plan is to close 4 plants, shift the manufacturing to Mexico or outsource to Nipodenso or a couple of other Japanese companies and to close a bunch of engineering departments.

So much for the “lets spin off the company and make a quick profit” experiment, both ford and GM lost.
