In an Unprecedented move....the National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard watch 5 days early..heck the storm was still off the coast Alaska as of last night..... 8-12" of snow and possible 50 mph wind gusts...should shutdown the state for awhile...and it is forecast to end up east...
Bring it on. I ain't going no where.

"Texas only" plan has been run past management ...and deemed workable, got an agreement to try this...as the news networks always say.....it will be "Historic" LMAO

After a very hard start at just 18f in Michigan yesterday. (After just 8 hrs of sitting). I'm seriously considering staying in the south for a while

That's what I did last weekend. Turned out well for me money wise.

Hopefully they are the bunch from my back yard. Dang geese!!!

That's how the management felt at the last place I lived. They were doing everything they could to discourage them from hanging around the lake.
Personally, I liked having them around. Especially the babies. They didn't drop to many bombs on my property

Don't know why you guys have to plug in. My last few vans started fine down to -40's and ive never plugged in. 2000 cold cranking amps...i can leave this sprinter for a couple weeks and it fires right up...
3 batteries, the normal one up front and 2 marine style in the bunk...i can leave them all connected, never had a winter start problem, diesel or my nat gas vans

Turned down a Laredo, Christmas and medical appts...Laredo's not going anywhere

Is that with 2 batteries? I have 900 CCA but turning over doesn't seem to be a problem, just starting when not plugged in. Arn't you the one with the Espar engine heater?

2 marine deep cycles that charge off the normal starting battery, can be connected or not with manual switch.

Yes the espar is great but when im in a rush I dont wait for it.

Going to drag out my Olympia propane catalytic, the cab heat out of the Espar was laughable at -14, but im sure the engine was happy

Well today looks like a bust, been #2 since I got to Indy area last night. Although, not once was I #1 yesterday, and that went pretty good

Mildly considering moving to Fort Wayne. Mostly just to keep my home path closer if I do bail

How do you manage to find them?
Easy! I buy fuel at the Flying/Pilot. A little blue food coloring and some dish detergent is way cheaper than that windshield washer fluid with alcohol and other expensive and harmful chemicals. How else could they afford to give me ½ shower with a fillup?

Didn't you post something about blue ice last year?
I did. Last year or the year before. These pictures were taken in what I call "cool winter weather" states. I was at home Sunday morning it was -24ºF. At that temperature I would expect real windshield washer fluid to get thick and maybe even solidify. The above picture was taken at the J in Joplin and the temperature was in the 30's.

Was just about to head off to Fort Wayne when I saw this. But 95% chance now I will just drive by and head home. Picked up a battery charger for auxiliary batteries which are really low. Thinking I'll call it a week and "recharge"

Back at home, was going to just sleep in the van as the house would still be cold. But it wasn't that bad, and my home bed was calling me.

Auxiliary batteries were fully charged when I got home (figures ).
Oh well, at least now I can keep them charged with the new charger. And now know how long it takes to charge by driving

I thought about staying in Fort Wayne for the night, but the temp dropped to 15f, and I had a hard time starting it last time at 18f. Besides I had a chance to beat the traffic so here I be till Monday.
After the Lions play on Monday night of course

Pickup scheduled for 9:00 am. We will see.

Just got truck back from dealer. New Catalytic Converter in and $1100 out! Just in time to add to deduction list for 2016, not that I really need any more . Now I can go back in service, oh wait, we are closed for the year.
