Darn Global Warming

ALGORE and "Global Warming" strikes again. I went down to the marina yesterday to check ice conditions. There was NO ice. None around the boats, none in the channel out to Lake Erie. SO. We decided to go out this morning.

We got down to the marina this morning to find the boats and the channel iced in with 1 1/2 to 2" thick ice. We managed to get the boats freed but was unable to hunt.

ONLY "Global Warming" could cause ice to form that thick, that quickly, this early in the season. It is what also is causing temps 20-30 degrees BELOW normal for this time of year.

My season is done. :(

It's called thermodynamics. :D

It's called getting colder than hell over night! It went down to 12. It was colder that a tiches wit!! That is, however, that fastest I have ever seen that much ice form in 16 hours. That was with a heavy wind, which normally retards ice formation.

It's ALGORES fault.

Sitting in Woodhaven, I agree.

Wish I had known you were here. I would have brought you down to the Lake to see the "Armada", then you could have joined the "crew" for breakfast. Few mortals ever get that chance. Too bad you missed it! LOL!! You were only about 10 miles from the marina.

I'm thinking my season is done also now..Spent last week hunting the rivers. Not as productive as we hope for but still a good time. My first year running out of a canoe so that made the river trips interesting but I kept it upright the whole season. (Don't think I wasn't a worried duck trying to learn how to use that thing) This summer I plan on rolling it just to learn how to get back in it..LOL
Now back at work and wishing it was Oct all over again. Time off work sure makes coming back hard. Maybe able to get a lil late season goose hunting in??

Cranes by the thousands still staging by the house..Wondering why they didn't leave with that last gust of cold wind we had. The Mallards took off fast,,that last wind storm was the last we saw of them for the most part.

More ducks here now than we have seen all season. The flight birds just showed up. They will be here all winter unless the Lake freezes, which is rare. Trying for the 2 day Dec hunt
