D.O.T. PHYSICALS (NOW THATS A JOKE)

WE ALL KNOW D.O.T PHYSICALS ARE A JOKE AND PHYSICIANS THAT GIVEM TO YA
WE'VE ALL SEEN THE OBESE MEN AND WOMEN AT THE TRUCK STOPS, AND THE BUFFETS FILLING THERE FACE WITH FAT AND LARD AND GREASE AND WONDER HOW THE HECK DID THEY PASS THERE PHYSICAL.
WE'VE ALL SEEN THEM STRUGGLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAB, WE'VE ALL SEEN THEM OUT OF BREATH WHEN THEY COME IN AND PAY FOR THERE FUEL.

BUT WE DONT SAY ANYTHING RIGHT?
THESE PEOPLE HAVE AND COULD KILL YOUR FAMILIES ON THE ROAD ALL BECAUSE SOME DOCTOR FUGGED THE NUMBERS AND PASSED THEM WITH FLYING COLORS.BE CAREFUL OUT THERE CUZ THAT TRUCKER WHOS FLYING DOWN THE ROAD OR WEAVING IN AND OUT OF TRAFFIC COULD GO INTO A DIABETIC SHOCK OR HAVE A HEART ATTACK.

AND WHOS FAULT WOULD IT BE??????????????????????????????????

Well I have to say your right most D.O.T. Physicals are a JOKE,But I have to say back In the 90"s I drove for Prime out of Springfield,Mo for 3 weeks I hated them.But the Physical they gave me was one of the toughest Physicals I have ever had they had everyone do exercise and after that they checked our heart beat,BP and everything else.That Physical lasted for about and hour and as I said they left nothing unchecked so they didn't play back then...Just wanted to say not all D.O.T. Physicals are a joke...

Well I am not trying to bash on him but maybe the insurance companies need to be more involved with this issue to limit the liabilities cuased by the issues brought up. They are a much stronger force than the DOT could ever be.

Greg334 hi but Isn't the doctors doing the Physicals the line of defence on this? Also the companies need to be more stricter also and I know they say there's a driver shortage which I think If HOS and other things changed they would not be a quote unquote driver shortage.Also the companies should be policing themselves better also.
Greg I could be wrong be I think this Is starting to be a really BIG problem In our Industry now,But Its been going on to long I think.We both have had the physical that the doctor or his asst looks at us and we give them the money and we're on our way...

No not at all. I had my phsyical last week and for the third time I had to 'teach' the doc what to do. They did not understand what really was needed and the last doc allowed me the time to explain what my problems, what I am doing to mitigate the problems and what I expect out of her to help me meet my goals.

What I am trying to say is that the companies would do what ever it was to get way with the cheapest way to get that freight from Point A to Point B and the insurance companies want to mitigate any loses so they have their rules that dictate what the company must do to remain insured.

See this is just another topic.... in which noone knows how hard or easy the phyical was.... But for the most part. I say its really none of our business but it doesn't matter because we are getting on the soap box and letting people know what they think and i guess the question is who asked... As long as they pass let them and doc's figure it out

THE FORUM MEMBERS REPLYING JOKES ARE PROBABLY THE SAME PEOPLE THAT PAY THE 50 BUCKS TO A HACK DOCTOR AND PASS THERE PHYSICALS THIS IS A SERIOUS PROLEM IN OUR INDUSTRY AS STATED IN A PREVIOUS POST AND SHOULDNT BE MADE FUN OF. I DONT WANT YOU GUYS KILLING ME MY FAMILY OR ANYONE ELSE OUT ON THE ROAD.
HOW DO DOCTORS GO TO SLEEP AT NIGHT KNOWING THERE PUTTING AT RISK DRIVERS ON THE ROAD, HOW WOULD THEY FEEL IF ONE OF THOSE DRIVERS KILLED A FAMILY MEMBER OF THERES...

I think most of the jokes started after you sent your entire post in all caps( hint the screaming part). What I mean is if you use all caps while posting in a forum or chat room, you are screaming at us. Another thing is, while yet it is a serious point, there is always gonna be someone with a smartazz comment, you point was taken seriously but on the other side of the coin there is always a joke to be made about every comment posted on this site. Better get used to all types of comments when posting a serious comment or subject in an open forum......good luck and welcome aboard.

What I see is not only a decline of qualifying standards but a decline of qualifying participants.
If you can't hold yourself to a standard of refinement or your message will not be heard unless you type in caps perhaps it's not worthy of being heard...
Back on topic is your concern of physical agility and DOT testing standards and I say that we are all held to the minimums for driver placement...
I do not agree with the standard but if I chose to drive I must subscribe to it and for that I do.
Here is an idea...
Be the best driver you can be and reap the rewards, try not to hurt anyone and make your customers happy.
Most important is be a happy little expediter.

CHANGE THE LAWS ALLOW 3 TERMS AND ALLOW G.W.B REMAIN AS PRESIDENT
