Has anybody used Rmax boards in their van walls and ceiling. I'm thinking of using 2" boards held in place with foil tape. Thx.

I didn't use Rmax branded foam, but I did use the blue board foam that Lowes carries. Used the foam board for the larger areas, filled in with canned foam for the places the board foam couldn't cover, and Reflectix bubble pack to cover it all, secured with 3M spray and Loctite PowerGrab adhesives, and then used foil tape to seal it all.

Have you had any condensation or water issues?

Only on the driver's side rear door, because I stupidly filled it with mostly canned foam, which retains moisture instead of letting it drain out the bottom like it's designed to do, and has thus rusted out the bottom seam and the areas around the license plate.

The front driver and passenger door I left uninsulated, and the sliding door only has pieces of board foam in there. And the passenger rear door is mostly uninsualted, with only with a few pieces of board foam in there. I left those three doors mostly alone because of the locking mechanism.

But no moisture issues on the ceiling or walls.

I used blue foam board on the ceiling with replectix, and fiberglass in the walls. No condensation but I have my roof vent sucking out probably 16 hours a day so I imagine that helps.

Thx for all the replies, I was also worried about condensation trapped between the insulation and van. I've seen several vans with rusted side walls and wondered if insulation was the cause.

I think it's the crappy German steel that vw used in the 60's
