Curtains for sleeper

The curtains that separate the sleeper from the cab get a lot of movement. They tore loose from the brackets that hold them right where the curtains come together. I was ready to try some Gorilla Glue on them to try to repair it but the place where they were made had a simple solution: take them down and reverse them putting the torn bracket area at the other end. It works great. Like new! We put some 3 in 1 oil on the bar that hold them, reversed them and they are working like new. Naturally it is a temporary solution because they will do the same thing again but at least it is fixed for now.

We had a problem with our curtains always moving away from the wall so Bob took a narrow piece of trim board. He sandwiched the curtain between the board and the wall and just nailed the in place. They no longer pull away from the wall!

We also use bag clips to hold the curtains closed while we are sleeping. They can be applied from inside the sleeper or from the cab. We have had a couple of the hooks pull out also but with the chip clips we really don't worry about it.

We also bought some curtain tie backs. We mounted a couple of cup hooks onto the trim Bob used and we can tie our curtains back in the day. This has really helped with the wear and tear on the curtains!

When we go to replace them we will go to Camper World as they have all kinds of cool ideas to fix the curtains and the hangers.

I do wish now we had reversed them though before we did the rest what a good idea but we where stuck in the box thinking!

I LOVE the chip clip idea. I never thought of that. Perfect! Ah, another reason to stop at WalMart. :)

Our curtains have a zipper in the center and they were attached with a snap on each wall. Well the zipper attached from the bottom, so it was a pain in the butt trying to zip them up. So, I removed the snap from the wall, zippered those babies together (one last time) and slid the entire curtain to one side. Worked great! Now my dear hubby doesn't have to listen to me fuss about that #$@% zipper. :p

Zippers?? Snaps?? My van had a privacy curtain (?) made of a Wally World sheet with a big hem with a rope running through it. The rope was held at either end by 2 beautifully shaped S hooks. I thought it was classy.

I think my curtains are classy, too - a pair of sheer panel curtains, (lovely purple), turned sideways, and held in place with 3 pcs of Velcro on each: one behind the seat, one at the corner pillar, and one on the center pillar of the windshield. The curtains stay attached behind the seats, (except for laundering), so each night, I just put them up by attaching them to the 2 remaining Velcro patches, quick & easy.:)
