Recently I got a recruitment leter from FedEx CC. Has anybody received one of these letters. The letter started out telling me what a valued contractor I was at one time and they would like for me to come back. I answered the recruiter via e-mail and I have had NO answer back from him. The last letter I sent him was returned unread. All I wanted to know was a few simple answers about The logistics division giving loads to other expediting companies and letting their trucks sit. Maybe the existing contractors with FedExCC will be able to shed some light on this situation. They are the ones I wonder about.

Unfortunately what you are concerned about appears to be going on.Freight that was originally scheduled to go by truck is getting diverted to FDX Planes. Other expediting drivers can relay stories about getting cheap freight from FDX,that FDX CC drivers refused due to low rates for them, but the other companies have much lower overhead so their drivers get a higher rate. On the other side of tyhe ledger is that some FDX Freight that could not make delivery schedules is being diverted to FDX CC.
About 2 weeks ago I did a transfer load which was done at a FDX Freight East (American Freightways) terminal. In chatting with the terminal dispatchers they confirmed that FDX Freight East/West is offering and soliciting expedite services. They are offering 900 mile next day delivery. If they don!t make it there is no charge.
For the first 6 months of this year my own gross is down $14k from the same period in 2001 and down $20 K from 2000. I am just hanging on and waiting to see if things improve as my so called availability and load acceptance rates are higher then last year. It!s not all the economy. Try to make the Detroit Expo and talk with the recruiters face to face..Good Luck

I got a recruitment letter from FedEx. I had talked about coming on board with them a couple of years ago. My paper shredder ate the letter before I had a chance to respond!!!!!:p :p :p

I have never worked for Fed-Ex. So I have never recieved the recruitment letter. Nor can I answer any of the internal operations questions. But I can tell you alot of the freight I pick-up each week. Says FED-EX Logistics on the bill of lading. I'm not sure why that is. I have been told its part of that TPS system. That all the carriers play part in.
