Depends on how it was taken care of. I bought a used truck with the Cummins ISC 330hp engine with 690k on the clock and overhauled the engine shorty after I bought it.... With that said I know a few drivers with over 850k on the engine and they are still going strong.
I would recommend taking the truck to a Cummins dealer and have them dyno test it before you buy the truck. If the current owner objects to it there is a reason why.
Yes I know it all depends on how it was taken care of im wondering how cummins classifies it like my big truck has a detroit 60 series that detroit says is a million mile engine i had others i was told to rebuild every 500,000miles.
What Dave said, I have seen 05-06's go a million miles "bulletproof" but the 7's going forward had major heat issues.
I have an 05 running synthetic with 700k and am confident she will roll 2 more years before I build a new truck..
In short if it has been maintained it will outlast the chassis.
