It depends.
If it is a pre-emissions engine it is pretty durable.
If it is a 08 I believe or newer, then it could have some issues.

Thought about buying one but understand there are issues with it running pretty warm.

i was thinking about buying a freightliner with that moter but now I'm not to sure if that's a good idea.looking for the rite truck to buy i sure wish they still made sterling

Do yourself a favor and look for a used "well maintained" truck with the intent of buying it right and doing an in frame.
Do so with the intent (again) of having a useful life of at least 3 years having a favorable % return on your investment.
Buy yourself a decent Sterling class 7 or 8 in decent shape for 20K and put 24K in the motor (worse case scenario) and run it into the ground for 3 years.
The Expedite Game is evolving and folk aren't standing in line to hock the homestead for the new and improved $225k+ trucks.
