I believe CRST Expedited. is a sleeper team set up. They are not an expedited company with B's, C's, D's, and E's like Panther, Fedex, etc.
At least not on any large scale

No, they are a truckload carrier. Like many TL and LTL carriers they like to use the buzz word expedite in their advertising.

Now they are known as Cedar Rapids Slave Trade and people really love those 3 man team trucks. I believe they are working their way to the top of the avoid at all costs carriers.

I highly suggest you avoid CRST. Take a look at some of the better quality mid-size companies if you want to try for one that might work out long term. If you want to go with a big company I would recommend Prime, they have a horrible reputation because they screw over people with their lease purchase deals but they pay $600/week for training. Just don't sign up for a lease purchase deal no matter what they promise because it is a scam. You can get your training and experience then move on to another company that might require experience and pays better.

Depending on your misdemeaners, FECC might not accept you. I would check with them first.

My information is about 20 years old, so take with that in mind. My co-driver at one time ran a branch of Tri-State Semi-Driver school. At one time CRST entered into an agreement whit them to be their prime feeder for students. She said they were only interested in people who would run as cheap as possible.
Like I said Info is old, and times change.
P.S. I always laugh when I see their trailers proclaiming "Expedited Services". Like someone said Expedited has become a BUZZ word.

There is Central Refrig they were hiring a few months back and I even got approved to go to their school. Decided against it tho and bought a van instead. They are owned by Swift so yeah...

Smart kid! It took me 20 years in a tractor/trailer to work up to a cargo van. I'm a little slow.

My wife and i teamed for crst when she got out of truck driving school just so she could get some experience to go somewhere "better". Not any worse than the rest of the truckload companies out there. good place to get experience . They had lots of freight when we were there in 2010. got her some 48 state experience and moved on. did a lot of linehaul work for ltl carriers like conway and ups. They Also did "Air freight" I guess the customers thought we put the whole trailer on a plane.lol

CRST has changed for the worse in the last few years. A lot more complaints about them with their treatment and pay for drivers. http://www.indeed.com/cmp/Crst/reviews
