Recently we have had to ban a few user ID’s, as is well known and debated here.
Now, we have had to had a couple more to that list.
Our own Code of Conduct states we will not discuss bans and actions taken against members, however, the actions of these members have now crossed from words on a forum, to having possible legal recourse by some members.
Here are the facts.
2 members of this forum had 3 ID’s each. This is not a guess. This is a fact, they were caught, and they know it, and have been notified and permanently banned. Now, normally tracking IP addresses may be inexact, due to masks, public wifi spots, etc... However, funny thing is, the chances of the same 3 people logging in one, right after the other, from the exact same… say.. Verizon account, on multiple days, is pretty random.
One of these members then tried to hack our system, and a moderator’s account. Problem with that… when you try several times to log into our system with random passwords, it sets off safeguards in the system, and it automatically notifies us with the offenders info, including IP. If you are dumb enough to be trying from your home address, with the IP you originally registered with, you are ASKING to be caught.
2ndly. A member posted a link to a slanderous site, claiming that myself, and 2 moderators were members of the KKK. This person then posted pictures of 3 moderators from this site.. which was a copyrighted photo taken at the Expo.
Obviously this is WAY over the line of acceptable behavior, and legal actions are being considered by members in question.
The Google legal department has also been contacted over the existence of this blog, and the posting of pictures without consent, especially claiming these pics represent current members of the KKK. Posting of moderators names and pictures on a site claiming they are members of the KKK is obviously slanderous, and could possibly put them in danger.
Folks, disagreeing is fine. We will NOT tolerate things like this.
I tried to stay out of these arguments.. guess what.. they made me get involved.
We created The Soapbox for debate. If you cannot post here without resorting to things which could hurt people OFF the forum, please, please.. go away.
