Canada Border Crossing Services specializes in assisting Americans with a felony or misdemeanor obtain the necessary permits to enter safely into Canada. Even a DUI may render one inadmissible to cross the border. (we also assist those Canadian long haul drivers that are trying to enter the United States......)
Whether you are driving long haul, visiting Canada as a tourist or just passing through, there are stringent laws in place governing travel. By simply calling our office, we can often advise you of your eligibility to travel and to apply for the permits. To travel to Canada without prior authorization may result in refusal at the border causing you and your company significant problems.
Usually the permit takes approximately 4 months to obtain and may be valid for one year up to a lifetime permit. Depending on your case, we can usually determine this fairly quickly. A Temporary Resident Permit is one that carries an expiry date. If you are fortunate enough to obtain Rehabilitation, you would never need to renew this as it is a lifetime permit. One qualifies for a lifetime permit 5 yrs after the sentence has been served.
Once you obtain Rehabilitation, you may want to apply for the FAST card. This is not available to those that hold the Temporary Resident Permit as it is not permanent authorization. Canada Border Crossing Services offers free consultation. Call 1-800-438-7020, email at [email protected] or www.bordercrossing.ca
