Another new law signed for you over 26k trucks registered in NY.

Drive in NYC? You now must add a bugeye to your truck so you can see directly down in front of your truck.

What does it mean by registered in New York? Domiciled in New York or apportioned in New York. We drive in NYC but our truck is registered in Michigan. Reading the article it seems that it won't apply to trucks registered in other states or did I miss something?

It means if you are based out if NY, it really is no different than the special metal coil endorsement we need to haul coils in NY. As a NY resident I can haul metal coils in PA but not in NY, a resident from PA can haul them in NY without the endorsement though.

That is what I thought. I just did not know if they were trying to pull a "California" on us. You know, require out of state trucks to meet "California" emissions standards on reefers.

un less you have a lisc plate from ny ,dont worry about it

That is how it has always been, but no longer. I have to adhere to California emission standards with a Michigan plate.

I wonder if the NYPD decides to enforce this are they going to try to ticket trucks from outside of NY? It will be interesting to see if they do. In reality I would be surprised if they even bother with enforcement unless they use it as a revenue source.

A front "bug-eye" mirror is absolutely useless on a moving truck. The only value in having one is to see if anyone is directly in front of you if you are at a full stop. I can understand having one on a school bus or on trucks that operate in congested areas that require multiple stops but to have one on an OTR trucks is just another piece of useless equipment.

Are you trying to say there "might" be some one in front of your truck when in new york city?;)

What's next, are they going to require pedestrians to stop trying to walk in front of a turning truck,or cab driver's to not squeeeeeeze in on the right when a truck is trying to go right.
