Try to help the Company and took a load that was not desireable but did it in good faith then the Company change the delivery from straight through to the next day. But not morning but midday.
Well I called the Dispatcher and they told me if they pulled me off the load Id get written up.
I told the dispatcher that it was s-bagging on their part and they should have called me and told me that the del time had change to the next day, at least as a courtesy and gave me an option to opt out. Well no dice. They said U can call such and such tomorrow and then settle it then but they would write me up if they pulled me off the load. That is wrong!!! Fruther more I was told once I accept a load I got to follow through. Now as far a detention pay NOPE.
Well I am going to do the Load. I think they are Bamboozlers and this is just one more I can add to the kettle.

IMO they should have to pay you det time from the origional del time to the new del time you might want to check it out.......

If it was me, I'd still get in there early and try my luck. You never know. But I would be looking for some detention pay. You never know what you might be missing out on by not being available those few hours.

If you accept a load that does not have a confirmed delivery this can happen. It seems this happens to us most often when we accept a load on Friday expecting to deliver on Saturday then the load will come back with a confirmed delivery on Monday. You will not get any detention time on a unconfirmed delivery. If we remember we will call in before we accept the load and ask them to confirm delivery if we forget and just accept it as is we also accept the consequences of a unconfirmed load.

Weather or not dispatch confirms info for a load should not matter. I know that it does with the Fed, but in my opinion, it is total BS. and if they make it mid-day next day, well lets just say someone would learn some new pharses.

It seems to me the more I read on here, the larger the company the easier it is to do this to the o/o. Why? A 1000 more trucks standing in line. One will take it and you will get written up. I guess large has its good points but small has it beat when it comes to stuff like this. In my opinion this is nothing less than the company looking good at your expense. This happened to me on a load to Canada in which the delivery day became Canada day. I was paid $250.00 and they put me up in a motel overnite. Now that is the way to take care of an o/o that fulfilled his responsibility. This should have been the response to you. But large equals to many channels to go through to make it happen or a lazy azz dispatcher that could give a darn what you thought. He or she would just write you up. That would cover their azz. I will take small companies any day.

I am in a straight truck with a small company. I am very satisfied and like the small company atmosphere. Will I
tell the company? NO. Why? I just stated I like a small company. I was leased to the cat. Too big for me. That does not mean it is not a good fit for some. I have a wife that is disabled. It requires me to be home more than others. I run all I want and stay home when I need to. This is my reasoning. I make a good living so far and that is all that matters. I have given up on being a millionaire. LOL

Well, Iceroadtrucker. Look at it this way...At least you're loaded! I had to dh from Florida b/c the rest of the Panther vans also headed down there as well, so I was 3rd on the Tampa board. Ok, so I headed to the Atlanta, Ga board and I'm 10th out of 11 vans. Ok, when is the freight going to start moving? Now I'm psd b/c I have to dh somewhere's other than here. I guess that's what I get for avoiding the snowstorm that Ohio got. this sx. I have one good week and two bad ones....aggggh!
