can anyone who knows first hand tell me any information good or bad about con-way now,panther,express-1.I will be getting a class d truck new or almost new 22 ft box no tag or lift gate. I plan to be out 3 to 4 weeks at a time then home for 1 week. One week will be taken off in crystal lake IL and the other in panama city fl I will be rotating were I take my week off.I have a class A cdl/haz I may or may not run canada I am working on that .I will be starting out solo then going to team when my better half is ready you can email with any info if you like. I know first hand that there are good and bad things to say about ConWay Now, PantherII and Express-1, as well as all the other major and minor expedite carriers. I think you would be best served by continuing to read thru the archives and sort out the previous comments pertaining to the carriers and drivers about which you are interested. Then talk to the pertinent recruiters and drivers at the Expedite Expo on 10-11 August (cheap ad). The combination of Carrier, Driver, truck type, geography, time of year and, to some extent, luck of the draw, are as different that human fingerprints. No two are alike and no other operation will be precisely like that which you envision for yourself.

I'm not suggesting that the comments you seek from other forum members will not be appropriate to your goals. I'm just hoping you keep in mind that Each of us that are successful with our respective carriers will provide comments that may appear to be, but will not necessarily be, germaine to your unique situation.

I have run with a few of the carriers and most recently with Express1. I am with a small company in Cincinnati now doing dedicated.

I will tell you that E1 is a wonderful group of people. You can contact Scott Hancock there at 18008005161 and he can help you with info. They will get you 1800 miles a week and more when possible and treat you like family if you act like family.

I feel they are one of the best organizations I have ever been a part of. You and only you should make the decision as to where you finally settle but I will tell you that it will only help to at least talk to Scott.

thanks for the info. I will be making my own mined up on who we work for just trying to get as much info as I can. I have talked with scot he gave me a good feel for the company and I will be seeing him at the show. Bill/Pam

I was with Express-1 for a while and they were not a fit for me BUT...They are great people and very honest. You could do a lot worse and then some. Give Scott a call. I know he will be honest and will not blow smoke up your skirt. Also there are one or two smaller companies that could bear a second look. I like my company (Premium Transportation)and I've heard good things about others.
