Company fleets

Can anyone give me a list of companies that use their own fleet of straight trucks and vans? I figure I should follow the advice I see in almost every post on here, that a newbie should drive for someone else first for 6 months to a year. I'm not really comfortable with the idea of driving for a private owner, I'd rather just drive for a company then buy my own van. Thanks!

Also, does Panther II hire people just to drive without owning their own truck? Their newspaper ads claim you can work for them without having your own truck and no experience is necessary, but their website looks like they're just interested in O/O people.

Try Hours has a few company trucks in addition to their O/O fleet. A. Blair is a small company truck fleet, but they may be team only, I'm not sure.

Most expedite companies are O/O. Most have some small fleet owners who have units leased to them. You should be able to talk to an owner through the want ads here. There are some horror stories regarding some of these owners. You would do well to research the archives.

There aren't many with company vehicles but I'm sure you'll get a name or two. I think Express-1 may have a company van or two. Panther doesn't do just O/O but they don't have company vehicles. Most people are referring to driving for an owner initially when they say don't start out buying a truck. Good luck to you.
