I know Fed Ex C.C. is god gift for expediting! But if you not qualified to drive for them. What pays good because everyone says the small compaines have low pay. Panther has too much trucks and not enough frieght and they keep you sitting. Express-1 got family insurance which nice thats what I need but the pay low and you have a hard time to surive. I don't own a truck I want to drive for someone first before I jump off the bridge. So what decent compaines out there that pay good and have family insurance? Thanks for your time. I prefer to drive a straight truck because that makes a little more money than cargo van or sprinter.

Are planning on running team or solo? If your answer is solo I would suggest a smaller company. Also why can't you drive for FedEx? Chances are if you don't qualify there you may not other places. If I were you I would talk to drivers from different companies and ask them if they are satisfied. You don't have to ask them how much money they make. if they tell you they are satisfied that pretty much answers the question. Plus a smaller company that pays a few cents a mile less may give you quite a few more miles and you come out money ahead. You just have to figure up your costs and what you need to make.

Reason not quailified for FED Ex C.C. is the six month over the road experience that they require. I have all local experience driving straight trucks. I know that most compaines want you to run teams which i don't know of anyone right not to run teams. But thats my goal to find a team driver.

Don't qualify?

Well tell you what you do.... go find a fleet owner with FedEx that will put you in the drivers seat. Find the owner first, talk to them, set everything up with them and then (re-)apply, have them talk to FedEx and see what happens.

They seem to accept people with no experience, zero, zilch, nothing..... all through fleet owners, which is not right but FedEx seems to think that someone without experience is just as good as someone with years of experience for their elite - White Glove, so Surface should be easy to get in.

A smaller company that has fleet owners is All-State. I don't know what their experience requirements are, but you may want to check it out.

Strange that no one seems to have
answered your question properly.

This info comes directly from the
Recruitment Dept. and therefore not
based on opinion nor speculation.

Call Hamrick Truck Driving School
and schedule a driving test. You may
or may not have to do a pre-trip.
You will be required to do a road test
with Hamrick tester whick takes aprox
30 mins. Once back at the school you
might be required to complete a
few yard maneuvers.Alley dock is most
often but not always required.

When you arrive for testing go into
main building and pay. Inform them
you are testing for FedEx. Upon
completion you will be given your
test results which must be turned
into FedEx Safety Dept.

Cost vary 60-80 Dollars
