That's probably true. Except your statement assumes that the TSA prevents said attacks.

First, it is very difficult to prove either way. There have been fewer attacks. Why? Better intel? Just the presence of TSA might deter lower level attacks? Not saying either way, just commenting.

Second. WAY back when that garden slug "Slick Willy" was in office he gutted the intelligence services. The very first programs cut were counter-terrorism programs. They were expensive and he was a numbers man. Many hailed this move a "wonderful" a "victory" for common sense. Those of us who knew better predicted, correctly, that those moves would lead to a terror attack on U.S. soil that would be horrible. We were correct. THEN, many of the same papers etc who welcomed the "victory" were screaming about the "failures" in the intelligence system. Some day, in the fullness of time, many of those cancelled programs will be declassified. The papers we wrote trying to protect them will see the light of day again. The truth will someday prevail. Too bad I likely will be long dead and won't be able to say:

"NAA NAA NEEE BOOBOO! I TOLD You so!"

Those of us who knew better predicted, correctly, that those moves would lead to a terror attack on U.S. soil that would be horrible. We were correct.

If one wants to address the issue of national security on a sane and rational basis, it is a necessity to address it holistically (completely) - with nothing off the table. Brutual honesty and candor is an absolute requirement.

If that is the case, one must then look at the fundamental driving factors or motivations behind terrorism - and not let the State sell lies and delusions about that, citing our "they hate our freedoms" or "American Exceptionalism" .....

By all means, let's destroy our OWN freedom before those dirty furreners do it. After all, it's so much better to be subjugated by a few thousand tyrants on our own soil (who actually are our servants and have fewer rights than we, not more) who are far better armed and more capable than some ragheads on the other side of the planet, and who have computers to track and regulate everything we do... That's so much better.
