If you live around the Cleveland, Ohio area and made $1500.00 a week and could be home every night or every other night would you do it?

That's a tough one. $1500 a week sounds good, but then to have to go to Cleveland every night, whew, I dunno.

That is gross in a D unit. I'm sorry for not saying that.

I would have been ok until he said Cleveland. Would have to take November through April off down south.

I don't understand the constant emphasis on Gross. What if you Gross $1500.00 a week and it cost you $1,250.00?.

The question was for anyone living around Cleveland area.Turtle that wouldn't be so tough for a local person.
I answered it as if I were someone living in Cleveland.

In a D unit ... seriously ?

Well, yeah ... I guess it is ...

Would this involve actually having to move the truck at all ?

This is exactly why you can never know that you are comparing apples to apples, or that you're on the same wavelength, or speaking the same language, when talking financial information. To me, 'made' means 'net', 'takehome', 'after-expenses'; Bruno has offered up 'made' as being 'gross', a completely different story.

I was going to say.. huh?? at the 'gross', because that is just not feasible in a D unit, IMHO. But I behaved and kept my mouth shut.. but now that you've mentioned it, perhaps the truck doesn't have to move, or perhaps the truck is someone else's to pay for? Who knows?

I am with Rlent...if the truck has to move and use fuel.....I mean the fuel cost for a "D" verses a "B".... if I don't AVG "$1500 gross a week in a "B", I am not workin smart or hard enough......

Have to agree with some of the other posts. Just the gross number means little except for activity.
In addition to the gross number you would need the DH, total miles, and the amount of days available in that 30 day cycle.
Even better is the revenue for all miles.
Just the net is worthless as well.
Those numbers could be significantly different between a one month old truck verses a 10 year old truck.

I do live near Cleveland, and if I wanted to be home that often, I wouldn't be driving a truck!
Just sayin.....:D
