Seasoned Expediter
Guys and Gals : Maybe some good news for a change. I am mostly local so for the most part I am home every night to get mail . Today a recal notice from Chrysler for 2007-2009 Sprinters titled, " EMISSIONS RECALL H44- Reprrogram Engine Control Module-it says:
"The Engine control module on your vehicle may not actuate the EGR valve sufficently to prevent soot accumulation, resulting in improper valve operation or sticking. Improper valve operation may cause excessive exhaust emissions, illimination of the malfunction indicator lamp, and a vehicle limp-in-condtion."
They also say if you have paid the big bucks for repairs and have receipts you may be entitled to reimbursement. They did not say big bucks, I did since I know how "nasty" some of these repairs have set some of you folks back. My 2007 has been acting up lately with the light and limp-in conditon for three months, but sometimes I can go a full week with no problems. Most of the time I just pull over restart to clear code and away I go. I have learned to live with it since I do not think any of the Chrysler guys have a clue They alays want to blame the fuel or try and tell too much ideling, whcih I always correct them on since I do not have use my van on the road, thus extreamily limted ideling and without a very cheap room built into the job so I rarely spend a night in the van. Hopes this helps some of you folks.
