Got my check engine light problem solved. It was a bad boost sensor. Small repair, under $400 which included getting a few other minor things tightened up. Next chore? Getting my old broken fridge out and getting the new one installed.

Fixed my check engine light by stragegically placing some duck tape over it . LOL . Actually , seems like every vehicle that I own has a chck engine light malfunction . LOL .

A check engine light on a truck is a bit different than on a van or car. It has to be take seriously unless you know your engine well enough to know what is wrong and how it is going to be fixed.

Yes you can't see the light, but the problem is still there. Sometime when you least expect it, it's underlying cause is going to make itself known at the worst possible time.

I would think a check engine light would need to be taken seriously regardless of the vehicle type. I've never seen an engine light come on and then later go, "Ha ha, just kidding."

They seem to be "emissions" related in most cars. It's been on for 3 yrs in my Cobalt after having reset it once. 220k miles and still averages 37 mpg.

He's had it checked. There's nothing wrong with the van. There's a sensory glitch between the motherboard and the instrument panel which causes that light plus 2 others to stay on. If they go out? Then there's a problem. I had the same glitch on my 2001 Impala, they would come and go. Nothing wrong with the car that trading it in didn't fix.

Ran a 1989 Ford C/V and the check engine was constantly on. Took it to several repair shops even the Ford Dealer couldn't diagnose the problem she ran fine 269,000 miles before I traded it in for a 1998 Ford C/V which I'm still running to this day!
