Changing lanes safely or this can happen.

I wanted to post this so everyone could see what happens when your going to fast and you try to change lanes to fast. This was a team truck and both drivers lost their lives. Drivers please slow down because your life is worth more than the freight your hauling.

They posted that on here once before, Bruno. The guy driving the truck was with his trainer and took the curves too fast and his load shifted. They should never allow a trainee to drive while the trainer is asleep. But these greedy trucking companies want the make all of the team miles off the truck despite the fact that one of the drivers in severely inxperienced. Viva la greed!

Yes, "trainer" trucks are nothing more than lower paid team trucks. There may be a few minutes at each change of shift where some "training" goes on but mostly it's worthless.

On an email list, I was discussing this with the wife of a rookie Werner driver. Her husband had six months experience, and was just made a trainer. I told her there's not a driver on the planet with only 6 months who's qualified to train, and boy, did she get huffy. Took it as a personal insult to her husband. Several people tried to tell her this but she just wouldn't listen. Unsubscribed in a huff.

Heck, CRST puts two noobs in the same truck and puts 'em out on the road.

I trained local pulling rail containers in Los Angeles. When I hit my first grade on the grapevine, I had never been up and down a mountain before in my life. Needless to say I was scared to death, but I managed to get to the bottom of the hill in one piece with my brakes in tact. These companies don't even provide proper training and then expect you to hop in the drivers seat and run 18 hour days! At least that is how it was when I left trucking for expedite.

I also at one point in time thought I was a badass and no matter how crazy I would drive nothing could ever happen to me. That is probably the very same type of mindset that the driver in that video had. I have slown down a lot since then and taken safety more seriously.
