Never knew running local was hard. For me that's what I'm looking for once I get back out to Ca. where I moved back too last month.

Thing of just doing freight that either is 100% local nights in my own bed or a mix of local and regional, where I'm home at least every other night. I'm done with being away from home more then 200 days a year or deadheading home because it's cheaper that way.

Not all local is as hard as George`s. I ran local in Houston for a couple of years. Rarely any thing heavy. Mostly envelopes and small parcels. Money is not great but I liked it.
