Centramatics?

My rig came with a set on the steer axle. They seem do to a nice job of keeping things smooth, there is essentially no vibration and the tires are wearing very evenly. I had the steers swapped side to side a while back and when I accelerated up to freeway speed the first time I thought the lug nuts were loose it started shaking so badly!!! After about .1 mile things smoothed right out and have stayed smooth since.

When I had my rear brakes done last week I had longer studs installed so that I can put on aluminum wheels in the future. There will be Centramatic balancers installed when the wheels are changed.

I am a beliver. YMMV

I have them on all 3 axles. My car is a Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart with a tuned sports suspension. It's a cool car and fun to drive. My truck rides smoother with the Centramatics than my car. I don't have enough miles yet to gauge treadwear but the ride is definitely excellent. I'll have them from now on.

I have used old scuff golf balls in my tires for years. works the same as any other centrifical force item, balls go to the light spot. I use them in everything even my 740i.

Scuff golf balls ...How cool is that? We had a set of centramatics 2 years ago (1 1/2?) 0n an M-2 and somehow the bearings clumped in one section of the housing told it was moisture? Ruined a set of steers with 75k on them (cupping). If they have changed the composition I would try them.

I love mine. I'm glad whoever owned this truck before me put them on. Even with only 2 axles, it rides better than my '02 F350.
