Here we go again....
U.S. senator promises look into cellphone-cancer link | Technology | Reuters
"Iowa senator Tom Harkin, newly empowered to investigate health matters as chairman of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, promised on Monday to probe deeply into any potential links between cellphone use and cancer."
Harkin says he is, "concerned no one has been able to prove cellphones do not cause cancer."
The fact that no one has been able to prove it does cause cancer is irrelevant. He's got to justify his existence somehow. As the acrticle correctly states, cell phone radio radiation is in the non-ionizing radiation part of the radio wave spectrum, which means if cell phones were causing cancer, then AM and FM radio towers would be frying us left and right. But that doesn't happen. Yet the Senator still wants someone to prove it. I bet Iowa is real proud.
Reminds me of the dire warnings about the use of a cell phone while fueling your vehicle. A static charge from a cell phone, or any other personal electronic device, can cause an explosion. Therefore, most states have laws making it illegal to use a cell phone while fueling. Never mind the fact that it's never happened. Not even once. Nobody can prove that it can't happen, therefore it will. I guess.
