CDL's

I have a question since I have finally seen it put in print. There is a post on here asking if a wife can go in the truck even though she does not have CDL's. I hear people say this all the time. CDL's. I have been in this business a while now, been in trucking of some sort for many years, talk at driving school, went to driving school and I have never figured out what people mean by CDL's. I only have one CDL and I am wondering why folks have more than one. What in the world does this mean. I though one Commercial Driver Licence was enough. Fill me in.

For those of you who are wondering where I have been, well I am driving one of my trucks so I have simply been too busy or too tired to keep up on here. Let me know what the above means. Please.

Ha ha.. that's a good one Raceman.. I never made the connection, but after thinking about it, I do hear a lot of people talking out how they got there CDL'S, keeping their CDL'S even tho they're out of the business, etc.

I think it's a common thing, but I never really gave it thought as to where it started, or the sense of it. I'm sure I've said it a few times too.

I'm sure MANY people here have one time or another said 'yeah, I got my CDL's... not Commerical Driver's License SINGULAR :p :p :p

(Sheesh, we have our own Adrian Monk on the board.. LOL)

Stop it you are killing me. I just wanted to have some fun. I was in Somerset Ky yesterday and while talking to a driver he kept talking about his CDLs. When I turned on the computer there was a note CDLs. Ha! I just cracked up. I really was beginning to wonder if I did not get all mine. :) Just having fun. I needed to poo in somebodies Wheaties after my day. I had a 6:00 am pick up that loaded at 11:00 and then had to deliver with no address or directions. A 179 mile run turned into a 10 hour day. So since I dont drink I simply needed a tall glass of Smart A@@ on the rocks and CDLs went down smooth. :0:0:)
