Those were the days..!!!

In '67 bought a very nice '62 Corvette for $1600.

Great times driving in the Rockies with the top down.
Found a hardtop for winter... not the best "snow car".
It was not a "classic" ... it was a driver..!!!!

Too bad we had to grow up... :7 :7

KEEP SMILING ... :+ :+

Have to ask if you're familiar with Kil Kare drap strip in that area?? Brother raced there back in the day and was recently seen at the Expo in Wilmington driving his latest obsession, a 1930 Ford Coupe that he showed in the National Street Rod Show in Louisville.

Many, many, many years ago, when I was about 15 I spotted a 1948 Crosley in the Dodge/Desoto lot. My dad and I went to the dealer and I put it in lay-a-way. It cost me the grand sum of $65.00 I never was able to legally drive it, because I traded it off on a 1947 Chev Fleetline two door with a motorcycle muffler.

I remember those Crosleys.. I grew up across the street from a hospital and a nurse had one. Tiny thing. Every so often about 6 of us would pick it up andput it on the hospitals lawn.

Jim recently read a book about the Crosley family business. I hadn't remembered the cars, just the radios and of course Crosley Field but shortly after he finished the book, I came upon someone towing this funny-looking thing and couldn't figure out what it was...you got it, a Crosley.

Why would you tow a Crosley when you could just as easily put it in the bed of your truck or in the trunk of your car?

I was once a proud owner of a 1950 Desoto. I paid the dealer $100.00 for the old girl in 1960. I must say it was probably the best $100.00 I ever spent. She wasn't fast but she was ohhhh soooo smooth.:+ :+ :+

I had all but forgotten about a 1951 Dodge or Desoto rag top I had. Fluid Drive. When I went to pass somebody, I kicked her into passing gear. By the time the tranny kicked backed into driving gear, the car I was attempting to pass had passed me and left me standing still in the left lane. Yes, it was also smoooooth. Smooth meaning slooooow.
