They will self prime if you hold the start button down. If it fails to start, the first place I would look is to see if the in-line fuel filter has been changed. Speedco and those kind of places only change the primary one.

Check fuel filter, check solenoid that holds throttle, its probly that, if it iscranking and not starting it is most likey the throttl solenoid, if it sputters runs and then stops, it may be clogged fuel filter or bad alternator.

A word to the wise, OBSERVE your equipment when it is funtioning properly, so when it breaks you can see quickly what is causing the problem.

We had problems with our TCU in the middle of a TVAL load, the unit kept increasing/decreasing RPM's until it would stall out on the low side. It had always sounded like that since I had started driving it the year before, so I didnt think anything was abnormal..until it quit. Thermoking was a few miles away, alas..our fuel filter was CLOGGED (something that previous yearly inspections missed)..our new filter is see thru, and cleanable. Lesson learned and remembered.

Cool... by the way, with some carrier dealers, you can get the parts and maintaince manual for your unit -free and it helps if you ever have to do any work to it.

I always try and watch people as they fix my stuff. So that maybe next time i' ll be able to trouble shoot and fix it myself. I like to ask questions to. They always just look at me..most answer them..

I watch them work on my stuff so I can figure what they did to screw it up so I can fix it.
