You will need to go back a couple of months or so. There was a post(s) by someone, it went on for a few pages. He drove a Company Sprinter. Out of the mid west area.He was responsible for his own set up in the van. I don't remember the persons name, although I think it was in this part of the Forum. Good luck in finding it.

A. Blair. Enterprises. out of Lousiville KY has company owned sprinters that they will put you in, but you will have to stay out on the road a lot, take all the oads that they give you, and only go into the areas that they send you. They pay 40 cents a mile (might be more or less) and you pay for fuel. Fuel costs are lower in a sprinter, so you might be able to make something off of that. Also T&K nationwide out of New Lenox Il has some company vans that they operate. Maybe you can look them up on the nets and call them to see what the deal is and if they are looking for people at this time. If not, there are a lot of small fleet owners who will be able to put you in a van and this will help you gain a better understanding of the business. I have a friend who was given the option to pay his owner 2500 for an older dodge van just three months after working for a fleet owner. Guy bought the van after working for an owner 3 months and used it for three years "breakdown free" and made a killing off of it. I hope this helps you some. Good luck man.

What are you driving now? Can you sell it and buy a van with the proceeds? You will have little use for your personal vehicle once you hit the road. Just an idea.

At first I was like WTH??? But then I got out my calculator and realized that might not be a bad deal after all. If they would give you 2000 miles a week, off which you could do in 2-3 days easy, that would be like having a part-time job paying $500 a week. But, big question is, is this .40 cents a mile for ALL miles, deadhead too, or just for loaded miles???

Personally, I probably wouldn't put up with it if it was for loaded miles only. If I had to pay the fuel for deadhead miles on runs they supply, that nice little profit for a part-time gig just wouldn't be worth it, even driving a company truck.

Second thought on what I said last night!!

I was doing my calculations at $3.00 a gallon for diesel on average. Just passed a small station over here on HWY 10 this morning that had diesel fuel priced at $3.89 a gallon.

No way would I drive a Sprinter Van for A Blair for .40 cents a mile and I pay for all fuel. Nope........not gonna happen!!

Do they give you the FSC?? I don't know how people can look employees in the eye with what some pay. Shameful.
